[ARCHIVED] Report Potholes to the Village

Residents and motorists are encouraged to report potholes to the Village.

The Village's website now provides an on-line request tracker tool that allows residents to submit a pothole request directly to the Public Works Street Foreman and upload photos of the damaged roadway.  The "Report a Pothole" request form is available here. Potholes can also be reported at (847) 317-7245. Once reported, Public Works crews will respond to either repair the roadway or install a barricade around it to prevent potential vehicle damage.

Please note that the Village generally does not provide reimbursement for damage to vehicles caused by potholes unless the Village has been notified of the road condition and has not acted to secure or repair the site within 48 hours of being notified. Public Works crews monitor Village roads for potholes on a regular basis to make proactive repairs, but at times, freezing temperatures and winter weather can cause potholes to form quickly.

If a pothole causes vehicle damage, motorists are encouraged to file an accident report with the Deerfield Police Department to aid them in submitting an insurance claim. Any time the Police Department responds to an accident caused by a pothole or damaged roadway, the Public Works Department is notified.
