Give Where You Live

The Village of Deerfield invites everyone to participate in a “Day of Service” on Monday, January 15, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day at Village Hall from noon-2 p.m.

Volunteers will participate in a variety of service projects appropriate for all ages including making care packages for the homeless, collecting and sorting food and related items, making chemo care packages for cancer patients and writing letters and cards of encouragement.

Everyone can help, starting now through January 15, by donating:

  • Non-perishable food
  • Toiletries & travel-size hygiene products
  • Socks & warm clothing
  • Water bottles
  • Gift cards
  • Lip balm
  • Silk or fleece pillow cases
  • Unscented wet wipes
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Caffeine-free tea

Collection boxes can be found in the Village Hall lobby and the Deerfield Police lobby at 850 Waukegan Road. The collection box in the Police Department is accessible for donations at all hours.

The beneficiaries will be PADS, the West Deerfield Food Pantry and local cancer centers.

RSVP to the event on the Village's Facebook. If you have any questions, please contact Mary Anne Glowacz, Communications Director PD Deerfield, at 847.794.7501 or mglowacz@deerfield.il.us.
