On Friday Deerfield Police officers along with a celebrity guest or two will spend the day on the roof of the local Dunkin’ Donuts, 499 Lake Cook Road, raising awareness and funds for Special Olympics Illinois. WXRT will be broadcasting live while officers participate from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the annual “Cop on Top of Dunkin’ Donuts” event in the hopes of raising $6,000. Last year, more than $5,000 was raised.
Dunkin’ Donuts of Illinois will be making a corporate contribution of $10,000 to Special Olympics Illinois for the officers’ efforts. As part of our commitment to this cause, the Police Department is also selling Special Olympics merchandise and raffle tickets for $10 per ticket. Prizes include a new Harley Davidson, an ATV or one of 5 big screen high definition televisions.
