The purpose of this correspondence is to inform you of the upcoming rehabilitation construction project on your street.
This notice also serves as an invitation to the project-related public meeting that will be held on Tuesday March 31, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. The location of this meeting will be at Village Hall, 850 Waukegan Road.
For those who are unable to attend, the meeting will be recorded and posted on the Village website for viewing at your convenience. Visit our Meeting Videos page to watch the live stream of the meeting or the recorded video.

The project schedule is currently being finalized and will be presented at the public meeting. However, work is planned to begin on Berkley Court during early April.
While the scope of work varies per location, the following description of work describes a snapshot of what to expect during this year’s construction season. To facilitate the work and keep the contractor on schedule, the project will be divided into three stages within each location: Stage I - underground utility work; Stage II - concrete curb removal/replacement, sidewalk repair and roadway rehabilitation; and Stage III - parkway restoration. Construction will be underway at various locations simultaneously.
Stage I: Underground utility work
Stage I includes storm sewer work as it relates to roadway drainage and minor water main repairs. Most of the construction will be performed in the roadway area except for the replacement of storm sewer structures and/or fire hydrants within the parkway area. If you have existing items within the parkway or Village right-of-way (i.e. sprinkler system, electronic “invisible” dog fence, landscape features, special decorative rocks, special vegetative plantings), you should remove/relocate or store these items to avoid damage by construction activity. The Village will not repair or replace private equipment left within the parkway or Village right-of-way that are damaged during construction.
Stage II: Concrete curb removal/replacement, sidewalk repair and roadway rehabilitation
Stage II will begin upon completion of the underground utility work. Work will be performed as follows:
- Removal and replacement of all deteriorated curbs and sidewalks
- Removal of roadway pavement and placement of new bituminous asphalt pavement (Note: Reconstruction requires complete removal and replacement of the roadway, down to sub-base, while resurfacing requires the removal and replacement of only the top 2-4 inches of pavement.)
- Repair of driveway sections and sidewalk impacted by construction
During Stage II, the road will be closed to through traffic and driveways may be impacted while concrete curbs, driveway aprons and concrete sidewalk are being installed. Residents will be notified using “hand-delivered notices” to park their vehicles on adjacent streets during construction hours (7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.) or in front of their homes after construction hours. The Deerfield Police Department will be notified that residents will be parking in these areas during this stage of construction.
Stage III: Parkway restoration
All parkway areas disturbed by construction activity will be restored by the contractor. Construction is expected to be completed by September. However, due to the complex nature of the project and the unpredictability of the weather, some delays and disruptions may occur. Additional construction notices will be provided as the project progresses.
If you are planning a special event, such as a wedding or large party, or have special needs, please contact the Engineering Department and we will do our best to accommodate you.
