Construction Update – 5/10/2025
Over the past week, the contractor has completed concrete work on the west end of the project, in front of the pool. This included the curb, sidewalk, and driveway aprons. With this work finished, the paving contractor is scheduled to pave the first layer of asphalt on Monday. Over the following couple of weeks, the contractor will prepare the area for the pool’s seasonal opening. Although the final layer of asphalt will not yet be installed, the site will be ready to accommodate summer pool traffic.
This week also saw the completion of the water main installation between the bridge and Prairie Avenue. The new water main is now undergoing required testing. Meanwhile, work on the water main near Waukegan Road on the east end of the project is progressing and expected to wrap up early next week. Once completed, that segment will also begin testing. In the meantime, the contractor will shift focus to storm sewer installation.
