This week, the contractor's paving crew prepared the full length of Hazel Avenue, except the segment between Wayne Avenue and Chestnut Street, for surface paving by fine grading the base and installing the initial asphalt binder layer. They then applied the final surface course, thereby completing major construction activities in these sections. The remaining work there is limited to minor tasks such as cleanup and parkway restoration.
Simultaneously, the underground crews continued installing the new storm sewer and water services within the unpaved portion of roadway between Wayne Avenue and Chestnut Street. This underground work is scheduled to continue through the coming week.
