Beginning on Thursday, July 9 at around 10:30 a.m., the contractor will remove the top 3 inches of the existing pavement on Oakley Avenue. This work will be completed using a large pavement grinding machine.
Paving is scheduled to begin on Friday, July 10th at approximately 7:30 a.m. This 1 inch lift of “leveling” pavement mix is placed with the objective to fill in voids and provide a better end product.
The final lift of surface mix will be placed in 1-2 weeks after subsurface structure adjustments have been completed. Additional notice will proceed the final paving operation.
Please note the following important access and parking restrictions:
- LIMITED ACCESS DURING PAVEMENT REMOVAL OPERATIONS ON THURSDAY
- NO ACCESS DURING DAYTIME PAVING OPERATIONS ON FRIDAY
- NO PARKING ON THE ROADWAY DURING PAVEMENT REMOVAL OR PAVING OPERATIONS

Due to pending weather which will impact the contractors plans for curb preparation today, the preparation and placement of curb on Oakley are both bumped one day.
- Excavation and prep for curb will now take place on Thursday, June 18.
- Curb placement will now take place on Friday, June 19.

Pavement removal & paving planned for Broadmoor & Somerset this Thursday & Friday. A physical notice will be distributed today to impacted residents that will provide more details.
Both pavement removal and paving operations require large equipment that will result in restricted access and generate heavy truck traffic throughout the area. Following pavement removal on Thursday, the underlying stone base will be prepared for the paving operation, which will take place on Friday, June 12.
