Construction Update – 3/7/2025

This week, necessary tree removals and the installation of tree protection fencing for preserved trees and construction signage have all begun along Hazel Avenue.

Looking ahead to next week, the contractor will continue with the tree removals, fencing, and signage installation. They will also begin preparing the roadway between Wilmot Road and Prairie Avenue for utility installation. This preparation will involve converting the existing pavement into gravel and recompacting it to support vehicular traffic. This will enable the contractor to more efficiently install the new storm sewer and water main in this section starting in the middle of next week. A crew will focus on installing a new water main between Wilmot Road and Appletree Road, while a second crew will begin the storm sewer installation at the bridge near Maple Court, working eastward.

Due to the size and locations of the pipes being installed, non-local traffic will be detoured. Motorists who do not live along this section of Hazel Avenue are encouraged to use alternate routes, such as Deerfield Road or Greenwood Road, to avoid the construction area.

Please note that the information provided is a forecast of the proposed operations and may change due to contractor availability or weather conditions.
