Compost: Get your third cart to the curb!

This simple action can help reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills and decrease the production of methane. Compostable materials make up almost a quarter of all the waste in Lake County's landfills. Methane, a byproduct of decomposing organic matter, is 86 times more effective at trapping heat than carbon dioxide over a 20-year period. By using your third cart, you won't need to purchase yard waste stickers for organic waste disposal bags.

Food Truck Wednesdays Return

Join us this summer for the Food Truck Wednesday Summer Series at the Jewett Park Hazel Avenue Parking Lot on May 17, June 21, July 19, August 16 and September 20.

The Village will host food trucks and kid’s activities from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. with live music from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The food vendors and entertainment will rotate month to month, so be sure to come back and check it out.

Waukegan Road Water Main Replacement Starts

Any anticipated impacts will be communicated via the Village blog as well as pertinent on-site signage.

This $4M project will result in the full replacement of the existing and aged water main from Deerfield Road to North Avenue.

Updates on the project will be shared via the Village website and interested parties can sign up to receive e-mail and/or text message updates on the project. You can also watch a video of a recent public open house about the project.
