Waukegan Road Water Main Replacement

Waukegan Road Water Main Replacement Starts

On Thursday, the contractor installed traffic control and lane closures for the Waukegan Road Water Main Project between Orchard and Greenwood. These lane closures reduce traffic to one lane in each direction, shifting traffic to the outside lanes. This traffic control will be in place until mid-June, when the contractor is expected to be finished with the work south of Greenwood. Once completed, the contractor will move this traffic control to the north of Greenwood for the second stage of the project.

This $4M project will result in the full replacement of the existing and aged water main from Deerfield Road to North Avenue.

Updates on the project will be shared via the Village website and interested parties can sign up to receive e-mail and/or text message updates on the project. You can also watch a video of a recent public open house about the project.

For more information, contact the Engineering Department at 847.317.2490.

Telecommunicators Week

Each year, the second full week of April is dedicated to the men and women who serve as Telecommunication Officers. In October 1991, Congress made a formal proclamation to recognize this week as National Telecommunicators Week.

On Monday, Mayor Daniel C. Shapiro proclaimed April 9 to 15 to be National Telecommunicators Week and thanked the eight full-time and six part-time Telecommunicators who serve as an indispensable link between the officers and the public, as well as a vital support service in the public safety community.

Telecommunicators provide radio, telephone and dispatch services with dedication and professionalism. Please take the time to thank this group of heroes.

Take DPS 109 Communication Survey

DPS 109 Communication Survey

For months, DPS 109 has been evaluating its current communications practices as part of Goal 4 of the District Strategic Plan, which calls for Reciprocal, Respectful & Effective Communication.

To do that, they need YOU to weigh in. Many of you may not currently have students in the district. That's perfectly ok! You can skip any question that may not apply to you.

However, they WANT to know...how can they best share information with you? What are your preferred methods of receiving communication? What kind of information would you like from us?

If you have 5-10 minutes, please take this short survey. It closes on April 14. DPS 109 will share results in the coming months as part of the audit process. Thank you!
