SWALCO Household Chemical Waste Collection - September 7


Don't throw away your household chemicals or pour them down the drain. Bring them to SWALCO's Household Chemical Waste Collection event on Saturday, September 7 from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at Lake Forest's Municipal Services Center (800 N. Field Drive, Lake Forest). Chemical waste that reaches our landfills can potentially leach into the soil and pollute the surrounding groundwater. Get more information here.

DBR Chamber Healthy Lifestyle Expo - September 7


The Deerfield-Bannockburn-Riverwoods Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 16th annual Healthy Lifestyle Expo on Saturday, September 7 at the Patty Turner Center from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. This event, sponsored by Whitehall Deerfield, is free to attend and will feature flu shots, health screenings and healthy lifestyle products and services. Get more information here.

Historic Village

Deerfield Area Historical Society Fall Fest - September 8


Mark your calendars for the Historical Society’s Fall Festival on Sunday, September 8, from noon-4 p.m. at the Deerfield Historic Village. The event will feature tours of the Village, craft demonstrations, historic games, antique cars, farm animals, music and food vendors. Fall Fest is free for all ages. Apple Pie Day at the Deerfield Farmers Market - September 14

Join the Deerfield Farmers Market for an Apple Pie Baking Contest on Saturday, September 14 at 9:30 a.m. The contest is open to all. Pre-registration is required online or in-person by September 7. Forms will be available at the Market on Saturdays. Get more information here.

Public Art Open House - September 19

The Deerfield Fine Arts Commission will host a community open house to showcase the 23 pieces selected for the sixth year of the Deerfield Public Art Program before they are put on display throughout the Village. The event will be held in the Deerfield Public Library (920 Waukegan Road) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, and will feature many of the artists who created this year’s pieces. Green Up Deerfield Educational Tree Walk - September 21


The Village's Sustainability Commission and the Deerfield Park District invite you to join us at Jewett Park for a guided educational tree walk on Saturday, September 21 at 10 a.m. starting at the Hazel Avenue Parking Lot. The first 50 participants will receive a free re-usable “Green Up Deerfield” tote bag and tree saplings. Get more information here.
Harvest Fest

Deerfield Harvest Fest - September 28


Visit Deerfield Road and Park Avenue on Saturday, September 28, 5:30-9 p.m., for a day of music, food and fun at Deerfield’s annual Harvest Fest.

The morning of the event will kick-off at the Farmers Market from 7 a.m.-12:30 p.m. In addition to fruit, vegetables, plants and specialty foods, there will be kid’s activities from 8 a.m.-noon including Touch-A-Truck, balloons, face painting and more.

Harvest Fest gates open at 5:30 p.m. – admission is free. The event will feature the following:

  • Live music by The Wayouts from 5:30-6:45 p.m. and Modern Day Romeos from 7-9 p.m.
  • Annual Bags Tournament (online pre-registration required)
  • Food and refreshments available for purchase from City Barbeque, Naf Naf Grill, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Taco Vida and The Wild Roaster
  • Wine, craft beer, hard seltzer and water available for purchase – alcohol available to ages 21 and older only.
