Back-To-School Safety Tips from the Deerfield Police Department

Deerfield students are gearing up for the start of the school year. District 109 and District 113's first days of school will be Monday, August 19. 

The Deerfield Police Department wants all students, parents and guardians to focus on safe travels on the first day of school and throughout the school year. They ask all to follow traffic and parking laws in and around school zones, including the following: 
  • Prohibit handheld cellphone use
  • Watch your speed
  • Obey stop signs and red lights
  • Pay attention to bus stop arms
  • Pay attention to parking restrictions in and around schools
  • Do not park in intersections
  • Obey school bus laws

Last Chance for 50/50 Tree Program at Deerfield Farmers Market on August 31

Have you been curious about the Village's 50/50 Parkway Tree Program? Take advantage of the last chance to purchase for this year at the Deerfield Farmers Market on Saturday, August 31.

Courtesy of Go Green Deerfield, we will be accepting complete order forms with payment at the Market. Note that applications will not be accepted after this date, and applications not submitted at the Market are due by Friday, August 30.


See the variety of available trees, their prices and basic information hereYour tree is guaranteed for one year and will be planted for you in the fall by the Public Works Department. Trees will be planted in the parkway only and cannot be planted on private property - this program is for residential properties only.

Save the Date: Deerfield High School Carnival

Carnival

Save the date for Deerfield High School's Labor Day carnival on August 30 through September 1. There will be rides, games, food and fun for the whole family.

This is a community event open to all in Deerfield and a fundraiser to support DHS student programs.
