Vehicle Stickers Must be Displayed by July 1

Vehicle Sticker

The Village of Deerfield would like to remind residents that vehicle stickers must be displayed on all registered vehicles by July 1.

If purchased by June 30, stickers for passenger vehicles cost $30. After June 30, a 50 percent late penalty is assessed.

Residents may purchase vehicle stickers in person at Village Hall, online or by returning the renewal application by mail or by using the payment drop box located in the median just south of Village Hall on Jewett Park Drive.

Have a Happy and Safe Independence Day

Independence Day

Non-Emergency Office Closures

As a reminder, all non-emergency Village offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Regular office hours will resume the following Friday.

Waste Management Collection Schedule

Waste Management garbage, recycling and yard waste collection will proceed as normal. Residents living north of Deerfield road will have collection on Tuesdays, and residents living south of Deerfield Road will have collection on Wednesdays.

Leave Fireworks to the Professionals

Fireworks

With the warm weather and family events, the Fourth of July should be a fun time with great memories, but please remember that the use of fireworks in Deerfield is significantly restricted by Village ordinance.

The best way to protect your family is to not use any fireworks at home; instead, attend public fireworks displays and leave the lighting to the professionals. Each July 4th, thousands of people nationwide, most often children and teens, are injured while using consumer fireworks.

Moreover, there are many people, including our veterans, that are alarmed by unexpected fireworks – especially the ones they don’t know are coming. They prepare themselves for our Independence Day celebrations, but unplanned fireworks can trigger a PTSD reaction.

Stay safe this year and join us at our Deerfield Family Days fireworks on July 3 at Brickyards Park.
