Approximately 1,200 ComEd employees and contractors are working to restore service to customers in the region. In addition, more than 780 additional employees and contractors from ComEd sister utilities have been brought in from across the country to assist with restoration efforts. The November 25 winter storm impacted about 340,000 customers in ComEd's northern Illinois region, and crews have safely restored power to 315,000, or more than 90 percent, of impacted customers.
We would like to remind those without heat to leave faucets trickling to prevent frozen pipes. Additionally, if you or someone you know is without heat due to a power outage or other circumstances, the Deerfield Police Department (850 Waukegan Road) is a designated warming shelter and is open 24/7. Should the need arise, additional warming facilities will be made available. Be sure to check on your neighbors and the elderly.
ComEd asks residents to continue reporting outages online, with the mobile app or via phone at 800.334.7661.
