Fall Leaf Collection Begins October 22

Leaf Collection

The Village’s annual leaf collection program provides residents with an alternate way to dispose of their leaves. Residents may rake leaves to the curb or carriage walk line the night before their scheduled pickup so Village crews may collect them. View the Village's informational video to see the machines in use.

Beginning the week of October 22 and continuing through November 16 (weather permitting), Public Works crews will make one pass by each house in the Village each week during the program. Please do not put out leaves more than one day prior to your scheduled pickup day. Leaves should be raked neatly, as close to the curb as possible, so long as they are not placed in the street or on carriage walks or sidewalks, which causes safety hazards to pedestrians and drivers. Leaves should be placed in piles no greater than 5' in width. If you have landscapers, please direct them to abide by the Village's leaf collection guidelines.

Political Signage Regulations

Political Signs

During the political campaign season, the Village wants to remind residents about regulations for placing political campaign signs on your property.

Signs must be:

  • on private property;
  • at least 5 feet from the house side of the sidewalk;
  • at least 10 feet from the house side of a carriage walk; and
  • at least 15 feet from the street edge or back of curb if no sidewalk.

Signs must not be:

  • placed in the public right-of-way;
  • attached to trees, traffic or light poles, utility poles or fire hydrants; or
  • higher than 10 feet above curb level.
