Non-Emergency Village Offices Closed on Labor Day; Garbage Collection Delayed

Non-Emergency Village offices will be closed on Monday, September 3 in observance of Labor Day. Regular office hours will resume the following Tuesday.

Waste Management collection will be delayed by one day the week of September 3. Tuesday collection will be on Wednesday and Wednesday collection will be on Thursday. Contact Waste Management at 800.796.9696 with questions or concerns.

DBR Chamber Healthy Lifestyle Expo, September 8

The Deerfield-Bannockburn-Riverwoods Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 15th annual Healthy Lifestyle Expo on Saturday, September 8 at the Patty Turner Center from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. This event, sponsored by Whitehall Deerfield, is free and will feature flu shots, health screenings, entertainment and healthy lifestyle products and services.

This year’s Expo will include free samplings of healthy snacks provide by Sunset Foods, as well as community organizations with health and safety information. Flu shots will be administered by Walgreens and available to everyone including those over the age of 65 with Medicare part B. There will also be free hearing screenings, courtesy of Audiology Associates of Deerfield, vision screenings and blood pressure and blood sugar testing. A shredding truck, sponsored by First Midwest Bank, will be on-site and will accept up to 3 grocery-size bags per person at no charge.

Save the Date: Harvest Fest & DAHS Jubilee

Harvest Fest, September 22

Save the date for Deerfield's annual Harvest Fest and the first day of autumn on September 22! The event is taking place at Deerfield Road and Park Avenue.

Harvest Fest gates open at 5:30 p.m. – admission is free. The event will feature the following:

Live music from local band Not for Profit from 6-9 p.m.
Annual Bags Tournament (online pre-registration required)
Free chicken sandwiches and lemonade by City Barbeque
Cakes and coffee for purchase from Nothing Bundt Cakes
Wine, craft beer and water available for purchase – alcohol available to ages 21 and older only

Deerfield Area Historical Society Jubilee, September 30

Celebrate the Historical Society's 50th Anniversary at their Jubilee event on Sunday, September 30, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Deerfield Historic Village. This event is kid-friendly and free for all ages.

The Jubilee will feature tours of the Historic Village, professional antique appraisals (registration required), games and activities for all ages including a petting zoo, food from Dear Franks and Italian Kitchen, and historic displays including the sign from the iconic Harry's Grill.
