Water Tower Curtain Installation and Sandblasting Underway

Water Tower

As part of the water tower painting project, a 190-foot tall containment curtain has been installed completely around the tank.

The curtain, which is raised and lowered as needed, will contain debris during the upcoming sandblasting and painting of the tank and will prevent damage to neighboring properties. A large vacuum will be installed at the base of the tower to collect any debris that will later be disposed of off-site.

Residents may hear noise during the sandblasting of the tank depending upon where crews are working. Exterior/interior painting will begin once sandblasting is complete.

The project is expected to be finished by the end of the summer, weather permitting. Contact Public Works at 847.317.7245 if you have questions or concerns.
