Deerfield Earth Week Events

For Earth Week, District 109 and the Deerfield Sustainability Commission have partnered to increase the community's environmental awareness and take action to improve energy savings and sustainability. During the week, students at all District 109 elementary schools will take part in games and activities, developed by the Village Sustainability Commission. Students will bring some of those activities home to encourage family discussion and learning  that will make an impact on energy savings for your family and the Deerfield community.

Please visit the Village's Green Up Deerfield website at www.deerfield.il.us/green for information and resources. The Energy Conservation Activities page has details on the Village-District 109 partnership.

Then, on Saturday, visit the Sustainability Commission at the Deerfield Library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to take the Water Taste Test Challenge. Participants will learn about water conservation efforts and the benefits of re-usable water bottles.
