Martin Luther King Day Closures

Martin Luther King, Jr., Day is the only federal holiday that is also designated by Congress as a national day of service – a “day on, not a day off.” Consider participating by volunteering or giving to those in need.

Non-emergency offices will be closed to the public for a staff in-service day and staff food drive for the West Deerfield Township Food Pantry. LRS collection is not impacted by the holiday.

New Resident Guide Now Available

The Village has developed a New Resident Resource Guide that will be sent to residents when they set up a new utility account with the Village. The guide includes important phone numbers, information about Village services and special events, and an overview of other local governments that provide services within the Village. It’s great for residents who recently moved to Deerfield as well as longtime residents who can use it as a helpful guide on everything the Village offers. Hard copies are available at Village Hall or find it online.

LRS Christmas Tree Collection

LRS will collect natural (non‑artificial) Christmas trees at no cost from Jan. 2–23, 2026. Please remove all tinsel, ornaments and lights. Set trees out loose — never in bags — at the curb or the end of your driveway.

Due to snow or ice, pickup may not occur on your regular service day. LRS drivers will be in the community through January 23 to complete collection.
