Non-emergency Village offices will be closed on Thursday, December 25, for the Christmas holiday and on Thursday, January 1, for New Year’s Day. LRS collection will not be impacted by either holiday.

District 109 Board of Education Places Revised Referendum on March 2026 Ballot

At the December 18 District 109 Board of Education meeting, the Board voted unanimously to place a referendum question on the March 17, 2026 ballot. The proposal, revised based on extensive community input throughout the fall, reduces the tax impact by 33% by increasing the District’s financial contribution and reducing the scope of the project.

In the coming months, District 109 will provide multiple opportunities for community members to learn all the details, including in-person and virtual information sessions. Referendum details, the schedule of information sessions, a tax-impact calculator, and answers to frequently asked questions are available now at dps109.org/redefine.

Rotary's 'Coat Off Your Back' Nets 2,046 Coats for Those in Need

The Rotary Club's "Coat Off Your Back" drive encourages residents to donate new or gently used winter coats. This year, the joint campaign of the Deerfield, Northbrook and Glenview Rotary Clubs collected 2,046 coats, an increase of 20 percent compared to last year. For the fourth year, Two Men and a Truck donated their staff, trucks, fuel, and supplies to deliver coats to Chicago and the suburbs. Donation drop spots were located at Village Hall, Deerfield Public Library, Sachs Center, downtown Starbucks, Jewett Park Community Center, Patty Turner Center and Whole Foods.
