Memorial Day Holiday Closures

Non-Emergency Village offices will be closed Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day. LRS collection will be delayed by one day next week.

Join Deerfield American Legion Post 738 at 10 a.m. on May 27 at the veterans memorial at Jewett Park for their annual Memorial Day ceremony. After a short ceremony at the memorial, they will walk to the cemetery for the second part of the program, including taps and a three-round volley of fire.

May is Jewish American Heritage Month

May is Jewish American Heritage Month and the Community Relations Commission wanted to celebrate some fun facts about Deerfield’s own Jewish community! 

• Alex Borstein (co- star of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, voice of Lois Griffin on Family Guy, and so much more) was raised in Deerfield.
• Congregation B'nai Tikvah was the first synagogue in Deerfield.
• The Model UN Team of Rochelle Zell Jewish High School, located in Deerfield, has earned the Award of Distinction - the highest award given - at the National Model UN conference in New York 10 years in a row! There are approximately 400 teams that compete at this conference.

Deerfield Art Festival Returns June 1-2

The Deerfield Art Festival is filling Park Avenue with 80+ original artists on Saturday and Sunday, June 1 and 2. Start your family or friend’s day downtown with coffee/breakfast, then soak in the creativity of the fest!  Make your own masterpiece at our live painting class, or plan a creative stop in the Kid Zone. Break for lunch and enjoy a cold beer, lemonade and delicious snacks at the fest. Be sure to look for Kid’s Art Stop and Live Art Demo signs to get interactive with the artists.  Many of Deerfield’s great restaurants, cafes and retail stores are open all weekend.
