Waukegan Road Resurfacing Project

Waukegan Road Resurfacing Project

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) anticipates beginning their resurfacing project along Waukegan Road from Lake Cook Road to Half Day Road (IL 22) the week of April 8. This project will result in daily lane closures and is anticipated to be completed by the end of September.

As the owners of the road, IDOT will be managing the project but the Village will be in coordination with IDOT throughout the construction and will provide updates via the blog on the Village website. This project will be similar in nature to the Waukegan Road resurfacing project that took place south of Lake Cook Road in 2021. Subscribe to the Village’s project blog for updates to be sent to your e-mail.

Hydrant Flushing Starts Monday, April 8

Opening fire hydrants and flushing out water on an annual basis allows Public Works to ensure that hydrants are in proper working condition and helps flush sediment out of the distribution system. Signs will be posted in each area before flushing begins. The work is performed weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
