Presidents’ Day Closure

Non-emergency Village offices will be closed Monday for the Presidents’ Day holiday. LRS collection will not be impacted, however the Village Board meeting will be held on Tuesday instead of Monday.

Tree Trimming Starts Feb. 20 in Northwest Quadrant

The parkway tree trimming program is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, February 20. The Village’s contractor, Advanced Tree Care, will complete the work within two weeks, weather depending. The work will primarily take place in the northwest quadrant of the Village.

Trimming work is scheduled for the dormant season to avoid unnecessary damage or trauma to the tree. Trimming is done in accordance with professional standards and may include cutting lower limbs for clearance and thinning of the crown.

Enroll in the Citizen's Police Academy

The Citizen’s Police Academy is a nine-week program designed to enhance communication between the police department and the community. Participants are instructed in a variety of law enforcement topics by officers who specialize in those areas. The session is limited to 10 participants. The Academy is FREE to attend!

The Spring 2024 session will be held Wednesday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. starting April 10 through June 9. Registration closes April 1 or when the session is full.

The Citizen’s Police Academy is open to anyone who is 18 years of age or older and lives or works in Deerfield. A background check is completed on all applicants. The Deerfield Police Department reserves the right to deny enrollment for any reason.

Now Hiring: Water Reclamation Facility Summer Intern

The Water Reclamation Facility in the Public Works Department is recruiting a seasonal, summer intern. Job responsibilities for this position will include a variety of general labor duties such as record keeping, collecting water samples, cleaning equipment and landscaping. Interested parties should visit the Village website to find a complete job description and application. The position will remain open until filled with a start date of mid-May.
