Trustee Benton Presented with Bernard Forrest Public Service Award

Trustee Robert “Bob” Benton was awarded the Bernard Forrest Public Service Award by Mayor Shapiro at Monday night’s Village Board meeting. In January of 1973, Benton was appointed by former Mayor Forrest to chair the new Village committee to study mini-bus service in the Village. That service has continued uninterrupted for 50 years with time on the Village Board and Plan Commission. 

“It is my honor to present the Bernard Forrest Public Service Award to Bob Benton for more than 50 years of dedicated service to the Village of Deerfield,” Shapiro said.

Historical Society's 43 Annual Fall Festival

The Deerfield Area Historical Society’s 43rd Annual Fall Festival will be held Sunday, October 1, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Deerfield Historic Village at the southwest corner of Deerfield and Kipling Roads. The fun-filled event features food, music, historic building tours and activities for kids.
