Register Now For Deerfield Police Department Junior Police Academy

The first ever Deerfield Police Department Junior Police Academy is a one-week program designed to build a bond of trust and friendship between the police department and youth in our community. Participants will be exposed to a variety of law enforcement topics. Graduates will receive a Junior Police Academy T-shirt!

There are two sessions that both run Monday-Friday, August 7-11, 2023 at the Deerfield Police Department. There are only 40 spots available; 20 spots from 9 a.m. to noon and 20 spots from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Registration is open now and will close when both sessions are full. After completing the registration, you will receive an email with your session details. The Academy is FREE to attend!

Applicants must live in Deerfield and be 10-13 years old at the time of the Academy. The Deerfield Police Department reserves the right to deny enrollment for any reason. Contact School Resource Officer Lauren Maldonado with questions or for more information.

LGBTQ Pride Day at Farmers Market

The Community Relations Commission will be hosting an LGBTQ Pride Month event this Saturday at the Farmers Market. They will be joined by the PFLAG Northern Illinois Deerfield Chapter and staff from One Medical located in Deerfield Square. The Commission will be handing out rainbow-colored pinwheels featuring the Village logo. Residents are encouraged to take them home to display in their lawn as a sign of support of the LGBTQ community. PFLAG will have a button maker, coloring sheets and a safety pin bead art project. There are more Pride events planned throughout the month, including the return of Queer Poem-a-Day and other activities at the Deerfield Public Library.

Food Truck Wednesday - June 21

Food Truck Wednesday is just around the corner! Join us this Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Jewett Park in the Hazel Avenue parking lot. There will be nine food vendors, live music from Derrick Procell and inflatables for the kids.

DPS 109 School Board Applications Available

Deerfield Public Schools District 109 is now accepting applications for a member of the community to join our Board of Education and complete the remaining 2-year term of our late, dear colleague, Mrs. Maureen Wener.

Applications are due by 4 p.m. on June 30th. All candidates must be at least 18 years of age, a resident of Illinois and a resident of the District for at least one year. If you are interested, click here to learn more and apply.
