Parkway Tree Trimming Starts Jan. 16

The parkway tree trimming program is scheduled to begin on Monday, January 16. The Village’s contractor, Advanced Tree Care, will complete the work within two weeks, weather depending. The work will primarily take place in the northeast quadrant of the Village.

Trimming work is scheduled for the dormant season to avoid unnecessary damage or trauma to the tree. Trimming is done in accordance with professional standards and may include cutting lower limbs for clearance and thinning of the crown.

Community Relations Commission Seeks Student Commissioners

Are you, or do you know, a current high school sophomore or junior looking to get involved in the community and participate in civic activities? The Community Relations Commission is looking to fill two student commissioner openings with the voices from the next generation of community leaders to Village issues. One sophomore and one junior will be appointed in March. Interested students can learn more and fill out an application here.

The Community Relations Commission meets the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. The deadline to apply is February 10.

LRS Tree Collection

Lakeshore Recycling will pick up trees and other organic holiday decorations on the regular collection day between January 3 and January 26 at no charge. All decorations must be removed.

Trees are taken to the same organics facility as compost and do not go to the landfill.
