Veterans Day Ceremony

Thank you to everyone who attended American Legion Deerfield Post 738's Veterans Day service at the Veterans Memorial this morning.

Village speakers included Mayor Daniel C. Shapiro and keynote speaker Deerfield Police Department Commander Cachola, a veteran who coordinates multiple donation drives every year to support Midwest Veterans Closet in North Chicago.

You’ve probably seen road signs advising that bridges freeze before roads, but do you know why? Having open air underneath the bridge means the cold air surrounds the bridge both above and below.

If there’s even the chance that a bridge might be frozen, SLOW DOWN! And do it before you cross the bridge — changing speed on ice is dangerous.

Cram A Cruiser November 19

It's that time of year for giving! Deerfield Police Department is hosting Cram A Cruiser food and supply drive in support of Midwest Veterans Closet. This event will take place on Saturday, November 19, at Jewel-Osco from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
