Fourth of July Closures, Waste Collection Delays

Non-emergency Village facilities will be closed Monday in observance of Independence Day. Lakeshore Recycling Services collection will be delayed by one day for the entire week.

Fourth of July
Fireworks

Fireworks Not Allowed

With the warm weather and family events, the Fourth of July should be a fun time with great memories, but please remember that the use of fireworks in Deerfield is significantly restricted by Village ordinance.

The best way to protect your family is to not use any fireworks at home. Many professional displays have been canceled due to COVID-19, but will be rescheduled for later this year.

Each July 4th, thousands of people nationwide, most often children and teens, are injured while using consumer fireworks.

Moreover, there are many people, including our veterans, that are alarmed by unexpected fireworks – especially the ones they don’t know are coming. Unexpected fireworks can trigger a PTSD reaction. Please be compassionate and safe and do not use illegal fireworks.

Market

Stock Up at the Farmers Market

Come celebrate the holiday weekend at the Deerfield Farmers Market tomorrow morning! The Farmers Market Committee is giving away a Fourth of July themed “Grab & Go” kids’ activity (while supplies last)! Please visit the Market Information Booth on the south end to pick-up a craft.

Shop the market for your Fourth of July party spread! This Saturday, Tastebudz will be making their monthly market appearance, with a variety of fresh, all-natural soups, delicious BBQ pulled pork and chicken and more. Visit our many produce vendors to explore this week’s harvest, including blueberries, sweet cherries, sour cherries, raspberries, black raspberries, blackberries, green beans, sugar snap peas, zucchini and yellow squash.
