Wear Orange for National Gun Violence Awareness Day

Mayor Shapiro has issued a proclamation declaring June 4 to be National Gun Violence Awareness Day in the Village of Deerfield.

Across the country, people will wear orange this weekend to honor victims and survivors of gun violence and to call attention to this crisis that takes more than 100 lives every single day. #wearorange

Farmers Market Opens June 12

Opening day for the 2021 Farmers Market Season is next Saturday, June 12! The Farmers Market will once again be located on Park Avenue between Jewett Park Drive and Hazel Avenue on Saturday mornings, 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., June 12 through October 9.

The Village and the Farmers Market Committee is looking forward to presenting a market that is dedicated to providing fresh, locally grown and prepared food in a safe, open-air shopping experience. To accomplish this goal, this season’s market COVID safety rules will require unvaccinated individuals to wear a face mask while attending the market, non-household individuals to maintain a social distance of at least 6 feet, and food and beverage items to be consumed outside of the market. Additionally, dogs and bikes are not allowed at the market this season.

Exciting 2021 market news includes the introduction of “grab and go” kids’ activities on select market dates, the return of all 2020 vendors (except one), and the addition of three new vendors!
