Water Reclamation Facility Aeration Tank Cleaning

The WRF division will be performing aeration tank cleaning starting on Monday of next week. This process requires that the aeration tanks be fully drained to facilitate removal of material, grit and debris. 

The material collects at the bottom of the tanks and can cause inefficiencies in the aeration process if not periodically removed. Staff will begin the process of draining aeration tanks on Sunday, allowing for the cleaning work to begin on Monday morning.  The work will take approximately three days to complete, and, depending upon atmospheric temperatures and wind direction, may cause odors.
