Waste Hauler Transition Update
Thank you for your patience in the recent waste hauler transition. Today, Lakeshore Recycling will finish their first week of collection of garbage, recycling, and organics (e.g. food waste and yard waste). Both your collection day and the regular pickup time of your collection may have changed this week. As the new crews become more familiar with the Village and their routes, we expect collection times to become more regular. Please continue to place your items out by 7 a.m. the day of your collection.
A few helpful reminders:
- LRS will accept Waste Management yard waste stickers this year. Yard waste placed in the organics container does not require a yard waste sticker.
- As part of the Village’s new contract with LRS, residents can place organic material out for weekly collection. Each single-family home was delivered one 35-gallon cart to be used for organics. Organics collection is provided on the same day as your waste and recycling service. Click here to learn more about this program.
- LRS continues to change out cart sizes requested after the initial deadline. This may take a few weeks to complete. . New cart sizes may be requested through mid-May. Call 844.NEED.LRS (844.633.3577) to register for a different cart size from Lakeshore.
