A Message from Mayor Rosenthal
Dear Deerfield,
As we see COVID-19 cases spike in other areas of the country, we must remain vigilant and not let down our guard. We’ve sacrificed and progressed. We cannot risk going backward!
We know the virus is still in our community and to date at least 125 Deerfield residents have tested positive. The Lake County Health Department has reported an upward trend in new cases among those under age 30.
It is up to all of us to keep the curve flat by wearing masks when we go out, limiting our exposure, and realizing that Phase 4 is not an all clear sign. Wash your hands, wear a mask, keep a distance of six feet from others, and avoid unnecessary travel to hot spots.
Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Before you make a choice, assess the risk to you and others and continue to make the smart, safe, and healthy choices that have gotten us this far.
Do it for you. Do it for your family. Do it for each other. #DoItForDeerfield!
Stay safe,
Harriet
