Farmers Market Opens June 13

The Deerfield Farmers Market will open as scheduled on June 13 with a focus on health and safety.

This year, the Farmers Market will move away from its focus on “food, friends and fun” to a market that is dedicated to providing food in a safe, open-air shopping experience. This will require the elimination all of our social and civic activities as well as limiting the number of vendors.

To provide for better social distancing, the Farmers Market will move to Park Avenue just north of Jewett Park Drive.

The Farmers Market Committee and Village staff used guidelines provided by the Illinois Farmers Market Association to develop rules for vendors and patrons. The new rules will space out vendors, limit the number of patrons allowed to shop at one time, require face coverings and provide increased sanitation. Patrons will not be allowed to touch the merchandise. Shoppers are ask to limit one person per household. Dogs will not be allowed.

2020 Census Follow Up Calls

Census workers will occasionally follow up with households over the phone to ask questions about their responses to the 2020 Census or other household surveys. The Census Bureau’s goal is to ensure that no person is left out of the census or counted in more than one place. We review your responses in order to ensure that we have a complete and accurate count.

By law, all responses to the 2020 Census are kept confidential. The 2020 Census caller will only review the responses that you previously provided. They will not ask about your financial information or Social Security number. If you receive a call and are asked about this information, do not provide it and you should report the call to the Census Bureau.

Additionally, the Census Bureau may reach out to you in other ways during the current COVID-19 pandemic, including email and text message, to conduct other ongoing surveys that are not related to the 2020 Census. Please see Avoiding Fraud and Scams for more information.
