A Message from Mayor Rosenthal
Friends and neighbors,
Thank you, Deerfield! Thank you for taking COVID-19 seriously. Thank you for staying home. And thank you for looking out for one another.
I am so proud of the outpouring of residents and businesses asking for ways they can help. Residents have donated homemade cloth masks for seniors, signed up to deliver food to shut-ins, signed up to be a “Senior Buddy” to make well-being calls. Deerfield has shown there is a lot we can do to help from a distance. Keep it up, you’re amazing!
There is so much good happening in our community and we want to showcase it. I am pleased to launch our #DoItForDeerfield campaign. Share your pictures and stories about community support in action during the pandemic. It may be a sign displayed on a front window, donations made by individuals or businesses, the lines of cars picking up food at a restaurant, and other examples of our community supporting each other. You can e-mail photos, videos and messages of thanks and support to DoItForDeerfield@deerfield.il.us or post it on social media with the hashtag #DoItForDeerfield. We will post these on a special page on our website starting this Friday. (Photo waiver.)
Remember, social distancing does not mean social isolation. Please continue to communicate with friends, family and neighbors. And please continue to stay at home and only leave for essentials. Do it for you, do it for your family, do it for our essential workers. #DoItForDeerfield.
Stay safe,
Harriet
