The CDC recently issued new guidance regarding indoor masking, regardless of vaccination status, based on the number of new cases per 100,000 people by county. Lake County is now at a substantial level of community transfer, at 55.56 per 100,000. The CDC recommends wearing a mask indoors in public spaces in areas with substantial or high levels of transmission, regardless of vaccination status.
The Village of Deerfield is now requiring masks in all Village operated buildings, including Village Hall and Public Works, for anyone over the age of two. All persons attending public meetings in person must wear a mask.
Businesses are urged to align their practices with the CDC guidance and to encourage employees and customers to wear masks regardless of vaccination status.
