March 12 Update: The Centers for Disease Control advises against large gatherings to prevent exposures to COVID-19. Due to the high level of community input expected for the Deerfield Park District’s pickleball proposal, on Monday, March 16, the Village Board will table this matter to April 20 and discussion will not take place on the merits of the proposal on Monday.
March 10 Update: An updated pickleball proposal will be on the March 16 Village Board meeting agenda for consideration. The Park District Board approved amendments to the original proposal following a public meeting to gather resident input.
January 27 Update: The Deerfield Park District requested to defer their presentation to the Village Board concerning the proposed pickleball courts at Deerspring pool to a later date, yet to be determined. The Park District advised that they will be holding a workshop meeting at Jewett Park Community Center on February 6 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss project options and receive public comment. In accordance with this request, at the February 3 Village Board meeting, the Village Board will vote to continue this matter to a later date to allow the Park District time to finish their review. January 16 Update: The Plan Commission Recommendation for the proposed pickleball courts at Deerspring Park has been removed from the Village Board meeting agenda for Tuesday, January 21.
