Farmers Market Season Opens

Mark your calendars for opening day of the 2022 Farmers Market Season on Saturday, June 11. The market is returning to its new permanent location on Park Avenue and Deerfield Road, between Jewett Park Drive and Hazel Avenue. Note that there is a bonus market date this season, with the market season extended to the third Saturday in October!

This season, the Village and the Farmers Market Committee’s goal is to once again present a market that is dedicated to providing fresh, locally grown and prepared food in a safe, open-air shopping experience. Excitingly, we will also be reinstituting our market promise of “food, friends and fun” with the return of many beloved market activities.

Saturday’s schedule includes:

  • Children’s music by Laura Doherty from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
  • Music by father-daughter duo, Dave & Allison Wexler, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Balloon Sculpting & Giant Bubble Entertainment by RC Juggles from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • “How to Start Your Garden” children's activity presented by Go Green Deerfield from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

For a full list of events and vendors, visit the Farmers Market website.

Tree Planting

50/50 Parkway Tree Program Open

The Village will pay half the cost to plant a tree in the parkway at your house.

Your tree will be balled in burlap, guaranteed for one year, and planted by the Public Works Department. Trees will be planted in the fall. Trees cannot be planted on private property. Watch your tree next summer and, if you notice any problems, call us so we can have the tree examined before the guarantee expires.

This is a first come, first served program with a limited quantity of each tree. Click here to fill out an online application.
