Volunteer at the Farmers Market

At the Deerfield Farmers Market, our volunteer staff is dedicated to bringing together food, friends, and fun in an outdoor market setting that offers our community the opportunity to experience fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables and other specialty products.

2021 Street Rehabilitation Project Virtual Open House April 29

Public Works will hold a virtual open house Thursday, April 29, at 7 p.m. to review the 2021 Street Rehabilitation Project for impacted residents. Please see the Zoom login information below.

This year’s project includes Ambleside Drive, Dimmeydale Drive and Windcrest Drive. These street will be reconstructed and have their sidewalks expanded from three feet to five feet. Greenwood Avenue east of Waukegan Road will be reconstructed and see curb installation and water main and storm sewer replacement. Elder Lane will also be reconstructed and have curbs installed.

Residents who live on or near these streets are encouraged to attend the open house to learn about possible impacts to them during the construction and ask questions to staff and project engineers. LRS Contract Reminders

We are nearly one month in with our new waste hauler. Below are a few reminders about the new service:

• You can request a different cart size here for free until May 15.
• If you have leftover Waste Management yard waste stickers, LRS will accept them this year.
• You can place yard waste in your compost container and LRS will collect it without a sticker.
• Using your compost container for food waste helps reduce greenhouse gasses. Learn more about composting here.
