CDC Travel Recommendations

The Centers for Disease Control recommend all travelers take steps to reduce the chance of catching and spreading Covid-19. If you are planning to travel over Spring Break, please do so safely.

If you travel, take these steps to protect yourself & others from COVID-19 during your trip:

  • Wash your hands often
  • Avoid close contact with others
  • Wear a mask in public
  • Cover coughs and sneezes

If you are traveling on an airplane, take steps to help prevent COVID-19. Avoid close contact with others, wear a mask, and wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.  Click here for more FAQs for travelers.

The COVID-19 Travel Planner is a centralized communication platform that travelers can search to find COVID-19 information for the state, local, territorial, and tribal communities they’re passing through and for their destinations. This information will help travelers make informed decisions, protect themselves, and reduce transmission before, during and after they travel.

Service Days

Lakeshore Recycling FAQ

Lakeshore Recycling will take over as the Village's residential waste hauler in April.

When will my new carts be delivered?
Carts will start being delivered the week of March 22. If you are traveling that week, please arrange with a neighbor or friend to bring your containers to the backyard or garage. Deliveries will continue through March 31. If you requested a smaller cart size, your new carts may not be delivered at the same time as your neighbors.

Will my cart be new or has it been used before?
The carts are brand new direct from the factory. Due to the way they were shipped, the lid may not close all the way for a few days as it expands and settles.

What if I did not receive my new carts?
Lakeshore will be delivering carts starting Monday, March 22, through March 31. If you have not received your carts during this window, contact Lakeshore at 844.NEED.LRS (844.633.3577) or Service@LRSrecycles.com.

When will Waste Management pick up my old carts?
Waste Management will pick up your old carts after your last collection in March, either March 30 or March 31. Simply leave your old carts out at the curb. Please, do not use your new Lakeshore Recycling containers until your first collection in April.

What do I do with my old Waste Management yard waste stickers?
Update: Lakeshore Recycling will now accept any unused Waste Management yard waste stickers. This is a change from the original plan to swap them out at Village Hall. The Village and Lakeshore Recycling made this change for the convenience of residents.

Bridge to Phase 5

Pritzker Announced Bridge to Phase 5 and Updates Vaccine Eligibility

Governor Pritzker and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike yesterday announced a metrics-based, vaccination-informed framework for Illinois to advance to Phase 5 of the state’s Restore Illinois Plan.

In recognition of an increasing national vaccine supply and the state now averaging 100,000 vaccine administrations per day, Governor Pritzker also announced that all Illinois residents age 16+ will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine starting April 12, with additional announcements to come about populations who will be made eligible prior to universal eligibility. This “Bridge Phase” will serve as a transition period with higher capacity limits and increased business operations, without prematurely embracing a reckless reopening before the majority of Illinoisans have been vaccinated. All regions of the state will move through the Bridge Phase and ultimately to Phase 5, together. The state’s mask mandate will continue in accordance with current CDC guidance.
