June 23, 2019

Work Completed:

The required road closure of Greenwood Avenue from Waukegan Road to Chestnut Street and respective detour route via Hazel Avenue was implemented on Monday at 9am. Additional information regarding the closure can be found at

Temporary tree protection fence and erosion control measures were installed.

RJ Underground installed new water main via directional drilling operations on Greenwood Avenue from Waukegan Road to Greenwood Court.

Anticipated Schedule for Next Week:

A Lamp will commence water main installation via open-cut methods and make the proposed connections to the existing water main at Waukegan Road. This work will require temporary lane closures of Waukegan Rd.

A Lamp will also install the proposed fire hydrants along the north parkway of Greenwood Avenue.

Percentage Complete: 8%

Neighborhood Impacts:

A detour route will be in place and the road closed to thru traffic; however, residents and delivery services will have access from Park Avenue. Construction operations will necessitate daily lane closures or roadway segment closures during working hours which may result in delays to local vehicular traffic. Caution shall be practiced through the construction work zone, and the Village asks that residents be alert for workers and construction equipment.

The Village appreciates your effort in helping to complete this improvement. If you have any questions or require special assistance during construction, please contact the Village of Deerfield Engineering Department at 847-317-2490 and request to speak with someone regarding the Woodland Subdivision Water Main Project.

Please be advised that the information communicated here is a forecast of proposed operations which may change due to contractor availability and/or weather conditions.
