Subject:  Brierhill Road Project Construction Update – 3/24/2017

This week, the contractor performed tree and brush clearing, installed erosion control measures, erected the temporary mailboxes, and installed roadway bumpouts. These bumpouts will allow additional room for vehicular traffic throughout construction and are made of asphalt grindings from old roadways. Today, the contractor began the water main work which brought the first water impacts to the north half of Brierhill Road.

Next week, the contractor will continue working south from Deerfield Rd installing the new water main. As this work will take them into the S curve of Brierhill Road next week, the Village asks that the motoring public please use caution and obey the contractor’s flaggers. There will be times when motorists will be impacted due to the contractor’s operations and we ask that resident’s please plan ahead for this.

  • Temporary mailboxes have been set up near Deerfield Rd. The USPS will utilize these temporary mailboxes throughout the project to ensure daily delivery. Delivery to these temp mailboxes began Wednesday the 22nd.
  • For the duration of the project, Waste Management will perform early trash collections starting at 6am. This will help to avoid conflicts with the contractor during construction. Please be sure to have both trash and recycling out Tuesday night.
  • Landscapers will be asked to not come during regular business hours when the contractor will be working, regardless of whether or not they can park in a driveway. Therefore, all landscapers are asked to come between 5:30pm – 8:30pm during the week and 8:30am – 5:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

  • The Village is allowing offsite parking for the duration of the project for those that wish to do so. The map at the bottom has the approved overnight parking locations. This information has been communicated with the Village Police Department. If parking offsite, please remember to park on the correct side of the road and not to park in front of driveways or fire hydrants. Also, this is a blanket approval through this area so calling in license plates or putting up window placards are not necessary.

Please be advised that the information communicated here is a forecast of proposed operations which may change due to contractor availability and/or weather conditions.
