Brierhill Road Project Construction Update – 9/8/2017

The contractor continued the installation of sod, seed, and mailboxes. The contractor should be completed with the sod/seed early next week and the mailboxes by the end of the week. Once all of the mailboxes are completed, the temporary mailboxes will be removed and regular mail delivery will resume.

As the sod is very new, please instruct any landscapers/contractors/guests that may be parking on Brierhill Rd to not drive on any of the grass. The sod is still very soft and any vehicles driving on it will result in large ruts in the parkway.

Today, the contractor also performed the structure adjustments which required cutting into the new pavement to raise the structures to their final grade. This is common practice and is done in preparation of the final layer of asphalt. As the structures are within the roadway and cannot be driven over while the concrete around them cures, this has resulted in a one lane roadway around these locations. Please driveway carefully around them, especially around the first corner.

Next week, the contractor will finish up the sod and seed early in the week as well as the mailboxes later in the week. A notice will be distributed once the normal mail delivery resumes. Currently, the contractor is planning the final paving during the week of the 18th. This is anticipated to be the last item completed on this project.

Please be advised that the information communicated here is a forecast of proposed operations, which may change due to contractor availability and/or weather conditions.
