Brierhill Road Project Construction Update – 7/6/2017

LAST WEEK

The contractor has continued the pavement removals and curb & gutter installation this week. The contractor also began the lining of the existing sanitary sewers. This work essentially installs a new pipe within the existing pipe without having to dig up the roadway. During this work, residents will be asked to limit water usage for the day that the line in front of their house is being worked on. Residents will be given a notice delivered by hand prior to this work with additional information.

SCHEDULE

Pavement Removals

Early next week, the contractor will work to complete the pavement removals and excavation on the north end near Deerfield Rd. This will continue to cause impacts to vehicles entering and exiting Brierhill Rd. Motorists are asked to continue to drive safely during this time. Once the removals are complete, the contractor will then move back down to the south end and work their way north excavating isolated locations within the roadway that have failed since the initial excavation. These will be at seemingly random locations and will require a smaller operation than the previous pavement excavations.

Curb

The contractor will continue to install curbs next week along Brierhill Rd. This curb work will continue to be predominantly one side at a time and will continue to not impact driveways. However, the contractor will most likely begin to impact driveways the week of the 17th. As previously talked about, the impacts to driveways may require coordination amongst neighbors as parking in neighboring driveways may be needed. Outside of construction hours, parking in front of homes will be permissible.

Sewer Lining

The contractor will continue the sewer lining of the existing sanitary sewer main. Weather depending, the contractor expects to complete this work early next week.

Paving

In the next 3-4 weeks, the contractor will be ready to pave the roadway. However, due to the width constraints of the roadway and curbs, traffic will be unable to pass the paving operations during the paving of Brierhill Rd. Therefore, the Village has authorized the contractor to pave at night. This will begin on the south end at around 9pm and will be completed by 4 – 5am. This will help limit any impacts to the daytime motorists. The Village will be working with the contractor to give as much advance warning to all residents as possible prior to the paving.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED PATIENCE.

Please be advised that the information communicated here is a forecast of proposed operations, which may change due to contractor availability and/or weather conditions.
