Due to this busy week of construction operations, the Engineering Department offers this mid-week update as it relates to the 2017 Street Rehab Project.
There will be a good amount of truck traffic in Deerfield today! Please
drive slowly and carefully through construction sites.
Pine Street Update: Pavement Removal Begins Today!
Pavement removal results in heavy truck traffic. Operations will begin at Pine and Hackberry moving south towards Lake Cook Road. Once pavement is removed, the sub-base will be prepared for paving towards the end of next week. Access to residential properties will be maintained using aggregate (stone) ramps. However, access may be delayed during daytime operations.
Fair Oaks Avenue Update: Concrete Placement Continues
Concrete curb was placed yesterday along the southern portion of Fair Oaks Ave. Today the crews will finish pour aprons and back filling voids along the front and back of curb. Pavement removal could begin as early as next week on Fair Oaks Avenue.
Garand Drive Update: Saw Cutting & Tree Operations
The contractor is looking to begin underground work on Garand Drive in the next couple weeks (pending crew availability). Therefore, saw cutting of pavement, along with tree removal and the implementation of tree preservation techniques which include root pruning and crown pruning may begin in the next week.
