Posted on June 22, 2020 at 4:50 PM by John Guccione

The below update provides a forecast of construction operations planned for the week of June 22.  Please note that this forecast is subject to change due to weather and contractor availability.

PROJECT LOCATIONS LISTED IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER

Dartmouth Ave
(Wilmot To Mallard.Including Pembroke and Circle Courts
Restoration utilizing seed blanket has been completed. The contractor will water over the next 2 weeks. Additional watering by residents is appreciated.  Final surface course paving will take place in 1-2 weeks. Additional notice will proceed.

Hillside Ave (Hazel to Somerset)
As communicated via last week’s hand delivered notice, pavement removal and subbase preparation on Hillside Avenue will begin on Tuesday and continue through the week. During this operation, the contractor will be removing the entire roadway pavement and subbase which will result in cutting out the top 11” of the roadway. VEHICULAR ACCESS TO HILLSIDE AVE WILL BE LIMITED DURING DAYTIME OPERATIONS. This work will include heavy truck traffic and will result in impacts to driveways during the day. If vehicles are needed during the day, residents are asked to relocate their vehicles to adjacent streets prior to 7:30 am each day. The contractor will install stone access ramps that will allow access to all driveways at the end of each day. During pavement grinding/removal operations, no parking is permitted within the work area. During this time, please avoid the construction operations if possible and utilize alternate routes.

**WASTE COLLECTION TIME REVISED ON HILLSIDE AVE TO 6:30 A.M. This change is in an effort to ensure an unobstructed weekly trash collection while the upcoming construction project is active. The Village recommends having your containers out the night before to ensure they are accessible for a  6:30 a.m. collection time.

Knollwood Rd

During this operation, the contractor will be removing the surface pavement in order to expose the concrete sub-surface.  Upon completion of pavement grinding, inspection of the concrete subsurface will be possible.  Any failures identified on the concrete sub-surface will require patching towards the end of next week. Pavement grinding and removal operations will include heavy truck traffic and may result in impacts to driveways while the pavement is being removed directly in front of a driveway. However, once grinding/removal is completed, the contractor will install stone access ramps that will allow access to all driveways. These ramps will remain in place until the following week’s paving operations. During pavement grinding/removal operations, no parking is permitted within the work area. During this time, please avoid the construction operations if possible and utilize alternate routes.
