Construction Update for Week of June 15, 2020

The below update provides a forecast of construction operations planned for the week of June 15.  Please note that this forecast is subject to change due to weather and contractor availability.

PROJECT LOCATIONS LISTED IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER

Dartmouth Ave 
(Wilmot To Mallard.Including Pembroke and Circle Courts
Restoration utilizing seed blanket has been completed. The contractor will water over the next 2 weeks. Additional watering by residents is appreciated.  Final surface course paving will take place in 4-5 weeks. Additional notice will proceed.  Placement of surface course is typically delayed in efforts to complete "leak detection testing" of water main and to allow for settling of subsurface trenches.

Hillside Ave (Hazel to Somerset)
Curb removal was completed today (Monday , June 15) along the east side of the roadway with curb placement scheduled for Wednesday morning.  Residents along the east side should note impacts to driveway access begin on Tuesday at 1 PM. Upon completing the east side curb placement, the contractor will return the following week begin removal of the roadway in preparation to pave towards the end of the week. Sidewalk discussions to resume after east side curb is in place.

**WASTE COLLECTION TIME REVISED ON HILLSIDE AVE TO 6:30 A.M. This change is in an effort to ensure an unobstructed weekly trash collection while the upcoming construction project is active. The Village recommends having your containers out the night before to ensure they are accessible for a  6:30 a.m. collection time.

Knollwood Rd (Warwick to Margate) plus Westgate
Project completed.   Only punch list items remain.   **WATER MAIN BREAK experienced over the weekend (on May 30) within the intersection of Knollwood and Westgate was not project related. However, ALamp will patch this section of pavement pending crew availability.

Knollwood Rd 
(Margate to Kingston) plus Margate Terrace 
Project completed.   Only punch list items remain.  

Linden Ave (Stratford to Chestnut)
Curb removal began on Monday and will continue through Tuesday on the south side of Linden Ave. Curb placement is scheduled for Wednesday.  Residents along the south side should note that impacts to driveway access begin on Wednesday, June 17 at 7:30 AMUpon completing the south side curb placement, the contractor will return the following week begin removal of the roadway in preparation to pave the first layer of asphalt towards the end of the week.

CORONAVIRUS NOTICE
The Village’s infrastructure construction projects fit under an exemption per the Governor’s Stay at Home order. Outdoor activities, like construction projects, generally will provide for good social distancing that poses little risk of transmission, but it still is important to ensure the ability to wash or sanitize hands and take other precautions. Village and contractor personnel will continue to practice safe social distancing and sanitation efforts during the construction.
