Construction Update for week of 5/11/2020

The below update provides a forecast of construction operations planned for the week of May 11, 2020. Please note that this forecast is subject to change due to weather.


Dartmouth Ave 
(Wilmot Rd. To Pine St.Including Pembroke and Circle Courts
On Monday, the contractor will begin installation of new curb and sidewalk on Kenmore (south of Dartmouth) and Circle Court. Removal of concrete will take place along the south side of Dartmouth in preparation for curb and sidewalk placement next week. 
ORANGE highlighted area  =  Concrete Placement Monday.
PINK highlighted =  Concrete Removal this week with stone access.
Green highlighted area =  Access restored.

ROAD-FABRICS-KnollwoodKnollwood Rd (Warwick to Margate) plus Westgate
Tuesday= Joint Sealing        Wednesday = Paving
"Center-line Joint Sealing” will occur down the center line of this portion of Knollwood on Tuesday May 12th and the final layer of asphalt paving will take place on Wednesday, May 13th.  

Knollwood Rd 
(Margate to Kingston) plus Margate Terrace 
Tuesday= Pavement Fabric        Wednesday = Paving
"Pavement Fabric" 
placement will occur on Tuesday May 12th and the final layer of asphalt paving will take place on Wednesday, May 13th.

Both Tuesday's and Wednesday's operations will result in the complete closure of Knollwood Ave (during working hours). Pedestrian access will remain available by sidewalk. Due to these complete road closures, we ask residents who require frequent vehicular movement in or out of your home (between the hours indicated above) to relocate their vehicles outside of this operations limits. Please note that the contractor will halt operations for any emergency vehicles. Paving operations will include heavy truck traffic in the area. During this time and if possible, please avoid the construction operations and utilize adjacent roadways.  All driveways will be accessible at the completion of the work day.

**Physical notifications will be distributed this afternoon which provide additional details relative to joint sealing and pavement fabric.

The Village’s infrastructure construction projects fit under an exemption per the Governor’s Stay at Home order. Outdoor activities, like construction projects, generally will provide for good social distancing that poses little risk of transmission, but it still is important to ensure the ability to wash or sanitize hands and take other precautions. Village and contractor personnel will continue to practice safe social distancing and sanitation efforts during the construction.
