Brierhill Road Project Construction Update – 4/14/2017

The contractor continued the installation of the water main this week.

Next week, the contractor will continue working south down Brierhill Road with the installation of the new water main. As of right now, the contractor will NOT be working or will have a much smaller crew next Friday. This is in coordination with the ComEd work described below.

ComEd Pole Relocations

Starting on Tuesday, ComEd will begin the relocation of 3 utility poles around the north end of Brierhill Road. For two of these poles, ComEd will be able to maintain traffic using a single lane around them while they work. However, the third pole is located on the inside of the first curve from Deerfield Rd. To move this pole to the opposite side of the road, the ComEd will be required to use much of the roadway around that curve. In a similar fashion as the roadway contractor, ComEd will let cars through when possible but there will be delays during this work. This work at the curve is expected to take 2 days which is planned to take place next Friday and Saturday (4/21 & 4/22). Please plan for the delays that could be associated with this.

ComEd will be performing all of this work, including the line transfers, without shutting off the power. It is anticipated that they will start Tuesday and will complete Saturday with any miscellaneous work needed to take place on Monday.

When parking over the weekends, please remember not to park in an area that is already constricted due to construction barricades, equipment, or stone piles. Please make sure there is plenty of room for other cars to pass by when parking along Brierhill Road.

Please be advised that the information communicated here is a forecast of proposed operations which may change due to contractor availability and/or weather conditions.
