Construction Update for week of August 16

Ambleside, Dimmeydale, and Windcrest
Directional boring for street light conduit began today and weather depending, is expected to be completed by the end of the week. Next week, the contractor will be paving the final surface course. Additional notification will be distributed once the final paving schedule has been determined.
 
Greenwood Avenue
With the completion of the final surface paving last Friday, this location has been substantially completed. The remaining parkway restoration and site cleanup will be completed as weather allows. 
 
Elder Lane
Last week, the contractor completed the curb installation on the north side of the road. Today, the contractor is working to install the curb on the south side of the road as well as the remaining driveway apron and sidewalk locations. Later this week, the contractor will begin pavement removals. Additional notifications will be distributed prior to the start of this work.

Construction Update: Week of July 26

Ambleside, Dimmeydale, and Windcrest
Directional boring for street light conduit is planned to begin in the next couple weeks, pending contractor availability. The final roadway surface placement will be coordinated with other locations and the completion of the street light work in around 2-3 weeks.   
 
Greenwood Avenue
Detector loops for Waukegan Road traffic signal is planned for the end of this week, pending contractor availability. Once completed, the contractor will complete the remaining sidewalk work along Waukegan Rd. The final roadway surface placement will be coordinated with other locations in around 2-3 weeks.
 
Elder Lane
Next week (the week of August 2nd) the contractor’s underground team will return to perform some additional storm sewer and water service improvements. The storm sewer improvements will work in conjunction with the new curb which is planned to be installed in the next 2-3 weeks.
 

Reminder that trash collection at all locations has been rescheduled for early pickup, starting at 6:30am. This is in an effort to avoid any conflicts with the construction crews.

Construction Update for Week of June 23

Ambleside, Dimmeydale, and Windcrest
This week, the contractor completed the pavement removals throughout the area. For the remainder of the week, the contractor will continue to prepare the roadway base for paving the first layer of asphalt early next week. Additional notification will be delivered later this week once next week's paving schedule is confirmed. 

Greenwood Avenue

The contractor completed the remaining underground items this week and started the pavement removals today. The contractor anticipates completing the required pavement removals by the end of this week which will allow the new concrete curb to be installed early next week. 

The pavement removals and subsequent curb installation will require vehicles to park offsite while this work is taking place. The Village appreciates the cooperation during this time. 


Elder Lane
As discussed in the preconstruction meeting, this roadway will be receiving a new curb as part of the project.  The contractor anticipates beginning the first round of curb removal and replacements in the next 1-2 weeks.
